    Finance Building Restoration and Renovations

    Richmond, Virginia

Finance Building This project involves full architectural and engineering services for Renovation and Restoration of the Finance Building, located adjacent to the Governor’s Mansion and the State Capitol Building in the historic Capitol Square. Ballou Justice Upton Architects is currently working to restore and preserve the historical character of the existing building and design a major upgrade of the building’s infrastructure to provide a comfortable and safe working environment.

The Finance Building was originally completed around 1896 and housed the Supreme Court and the State Library. An addition was added between 1908 and 1910 for expansion of the Library. The present building has usable space on four levels. The Restoration and Renovation of the Finance Building will be accomplished in phases.

    Government Center Complex

    Henrico County, Virginia

Henrico County Government Center As Principal Architect for these projects, all construction documents were prepared by Ballou Justice Upton Architects for this six building complex. A “city” was created for Henrico County - nearly a half-million square feet, comprising Courts, Administrative Offices, and Public Safety Buildings. This vast complex brought together County departments previously scattered throughout the Richmond metropolitan area.
